Acquisition of a Password
[Notice for Freshmen]
You can get your ICC ID and password during the first class of "Information Literacy" in general subjects.
Please wait until Information Collaboration Center (ICC) sets up your account.


*People who don't take "Information Literacy" class such as transferred students and graduate students should take a Course for new ICC users to get the ICC account.

Lending and reservation

You can check your lending and reservations with this service.
  1. Choose "Lending and reservation" from User Menu.
  2. The list of present lending / reservation condition is displayed.
  3. See the following sample list.

【Display Item】
Item Name Contents
Title/Author The title and the author of the material you have borrowed or reserved.
※"未登録書誌" or "仮登録図書" is just brief information needed for lending service, not the exact title of the material. See the Book ID and Call number to identify each material. If you want to know the exact title, inquire at Service Counter.
Location Location of the material.
Book ID Book ID of the material. (Number of the barcode attached on the material.)
※Numbers that start with "09" are temporaryIDs to lend material without barcode stickers.
Some material does not have Book ID. If you want to know its exact title, inquire at the Service Counter.
Volume Volume number of the material.
Call No Call number of the material.
※The number printed on a label on the spine of the material.
If there is no Call number, the material has "09" beginning Book ID. If you want to know its exact title, inquire at Service Counter
Lending and
Reserve list
Status of the material is displayed.
 List of lending materials: You can check your due date, the number of the people who reserve this material, and Notes.
 List of reserved materials: You can check when the reserved materials are to be returned, your place in the queue, the number of the people who reserved this material and Notes.
※Make sure to return the materials by the due date, if they are reserved by other users.
※If "on layaway" sign appears
on the reservation list, the material has already been returned. Come to the Service Counter and borrow the material.
to lending extend screen This button is displayed only for the materials whose loan period can be extended.
※See Loan Period Extension for the details of using this procedure.
Reserve Cancel You can cancel your reservation if "Reserve Cancel" button appears at the bottom of the Reserve list.
※You cannot cancel the material with "on layaway" sign. Come to Service Counter and apply for cancelation.

Loan Period Extension
You can extend your loan period (=put off due returning date) with this service.
  1. Choose "Lending and reservation" from User Menu.
  2. You can extend the loan period of material only once, if there is a check box on the left side of the Lending list.
  3. Check a material and click the "to lending extend screen" button at the bottom of the list.
  4. The lending extension is completed when [The lending extension have been completed] screen appears.
    ※Click [Back to List] button, and check the renewed due date on Lending/Reservation Confirmation screen.
  5. Loan Period Extension Service is available when following requirements are met.
     Lending type: Regular lending (Lending at the library Service Counter or by the automatic lending machine.)
     Number of extension: 0 time. (Loan Period Extension Service is available only once.)
     Using condition: Your loan period has not been expired. The material has not been reserved by other users.
     
    • You can extend the loan period of the materials of Regular lending category.
      Materials of other categories are excluded from this Loan Period Extension Service.
    • You cannot extend the loan period of the same book more than one time by this service.
      If you want to extend it again, bring the material to Service Counter before its due date.

Password Change
You cannot change your password with this service.
  1. If you want to change your ICC password, please access ICC website.
  2. If you use a Library password, please come to the Service Counter on the 2nd floor between 9:00 and 17:00 on weekdays.

User information change
You can modify your registered user's information such as your e-mail address or address.
Modify your user's information when there is any change, for the library will make a contact with you by the registered information.
  1. Choose "User information change" from User Menu.
  2. Modify items in the text box.
  3. Address --- Enter your present address.
  4. Zip code--- Enter 7 digits except hyphen.
  5. Contact information (phone number) --- Enter your phone number or extension number.
  6. Phone number2 --- Enter your phone number in addition to the above number.
  7. E-MAIL --- The address provided by T.U.F.S. *You cannot change this address.
  8. E-MAIL 2 --- Enter an e-mail address which can receive messages form the library.
  9. Advance Notice Service of Your Due Date---Choose whether you will/will not use [Advance Notice Service of Your Due Date] service, and check the radio button "Yes/No" of "Receive the delay notification mail?".
  10. Click "Contents Change of Registration" button.

Request for New Materials
You can ask the library to purchase new materials which you want to use with this service.
Click "ORDER of Request books" from User Menu.

【New Request】
  1. Click "New Request" when you request material for the first time.
  2. Fill out the application form below following the directions on the screen. (necessary information)
Item Name Contents
Contact Information (phone number and e-mail address) We may contact you to confirm your request.
If you want to change your e-mail address, use User information change Service.
Book Information* Book title is necessary.
Enter as much other info. as possible. We will delay or cancel your request if we cannot find the exact book.
#Import book information You can download book information (Book Bibliographic Information) from OPAC or Webcat.
Enter any of "Title," "Author/Editor," or "ISBN" and click the "Search in OPAC" or "Search Webcat" button.

Display the detailed information of the material and click "Import book information."

※You may find "Webcat Plus Search" button on the search result page of OPAC. You cannot download Webcat Bibliographic Information even if you click this button and search materials.
If you want to search materials by Webcat, return to the entry screen and click "Search Webcat" button there.
Request Reason* Make sure to explain why you need the book. Selection Committee will consider it.
  1. Click "To confirmation screen" button.
  2. A message will appear when there is any error. Correct it following the directions displayed on the screen.
  3. Confirm the entry and click "Request" button to complete the procedure.

【Entry Confirmation/Modification】
  1. The lists of "unacceptance Request" and "acceptance Request" are displayed on the screen.
  2. Click the title to see the detail of your request.
    You can modify the contents of your "unacceptance Request." Modify the contents through the same procedure of "New Request."
    For "acceptance Request," you can just check the contents of your request.
  3. Check the box for the materials you want to cancel, then click the "Cancel" button only for "an unacceptance Request."

Reservation
You can reserve materials which have been lent by others with this service.
Click the button on the right side of the Book Bibliographic Information page of OPAC.

※You cannot use this service when you have accessed to My library on the upside of the OPAC screen.

ASK Service
You can contact with the library by an e-mail with this service.
Click "Ask " from User Menu.
【New Request】
  1. Fill out the application form below following the directions on the screen. (necessary information)
Item Name Contents
Contact Information (phone number)
We regularly send you our answer by an e-mail, but we will contact you with a phone call when we cannot send an e-mail to an address you have registered.
E-Mail Address Choose the registered address. If you have not registered your address, or want to use other addresses, register them with User information change Service first.
Title* Write a title that shows the contents of your question or request.
Contents of a Question* Write your questions or requests.
Results of Your Research If you have already done research concerning with your questions, write the results.
Ask for an Answer If you want an answer from the library, check the □ box.
  1. Click "offer" button.
  2. Confirm the items you have entered on the confirmation screen and click "offer" button.
    If you want to change the contents, click "return" button.
  3. The request procedure is finished with a "Thank you for an application." message.
【About an Answer】

We answer your request by an e-mail basically.
If you have further questions, reply to our answer or send another "New Request" with Ask Service. In this case, please make it clear that your New Request is related to the former one.

Selective Dissemination Information

1.What is Selective Dissemination Information service?
This service is a current awareness system which alerts you that the new materials in your specified field(s) of interest are registered in this library.

1-1.How to use
Log in to My Library.

1-2.About picture transition
New request
[Selective Dissemination Information] → 「Selective Dissemination Information list」 → 「 Selective Dissemination Information regist screen」
Correct the request
[Selective Dissemination Information] → 「Selective Dissemination Information list」 → 「Selective Dissemination Information edit screen」


2.Regist new search condition for
2-1.You can register 5 of search condition for Selective Dissemination Information.

Click "New request" on the right hand of the Selective Dissemination Information list to register the search condition.

1.What is Lending ranking?

This is the service that shows you the lending ranking of the selected period.


1-1.How to use

Log in to My Library.


1-2. Procedure for referring to Lending ranking

Click [Lending ranking] to see the list of Lending ranking


2.Lending ranking list

【Input item】

Period

Select the ranking period [last 6 months] or [last 3 years].

Top

Select top 10, 30 or 50.

Click "Search" to see the list of lending ranking.

【Display item】

Rank

Ranking of the most frequently borrowed title

Title

Title/Author of the materials

Call No.

Call number of the materials

Application for Inter Library (photocopy/Loan) Request
You can ask for photocopies or borrow materials outside the T.U.F.S. library with this service.
Click "ORDER" button on the Inter Library (photocopy/Loan) Request section on the User Menu.
The application procedure is explained here.
When you use this service for the first time, read Photocopy & Book Loan Service on the library HP first.
You can apply for this service at any time, but please note that we will process your applications between 9:00 and 17:00 on weekdays.

【New Application】
  1. Click "New request" button.
  2. Fill out the application form below following the indications displayed on the screen. (necessary information)
  3. Note that some items are required only for either of Photocopying or Book loan.

We may contact you to confirm your application by e-mail.
If you want to change your e-mail address, use User information change.
Request Category Choose either Photocopy or Book loan.
Payment Method Choose either public expense or private expense.
※Enter "Expense Item" when you choose public expense. See About the Budget for details.

Range of the Request (Book loan Request Only) Some books are required to use in-library only. If you want to cancel such a book, check the box.
Book/Journal Information Book/Journal Title*is necessary.
Enter other items as possible.
※When you request a set of books, send one application form per volume.
Article Information (Photocopying Request only) Enter page number, title, and the author.
※When you request more than two articles, send one application form per article.
Bibliography Authority/Holdings Authority Make sure to enter bibliography authority and holdings authority.
Comment Enter any special instruction.

#Download Book/Journal Information You can download book/journal information (Book Bibliographic Information) by using "Search in OPAC"or "Search Webcat."
Enter any "Book/Journal Title," "Author/Editor," or "ISBN/ISSN" and click the button.
Display the detailed information of the materials, click "Import book information."

※You may find "Webcat Plus Search" button on the search result page of OPAC. You cannot download Webcat Bibliographic Information even if you click this button and search materials.
When you want to search materials by Webcat, return to the entry screen and click the "Search Webcat" button there.

 
  1. Click "To confirmation screen" button.
  2. A message will appear when there is any error. Correct it following the directions displayed on the screen.
  3. Confirm the entry and click "Request" button to complete the procedure.
     

【Request Confirmation/Modification】

  1. The lists of "unacceptance Request" and "acceptance Request" are displayed on the screen.
  2. Click the title to see the detail of your request.
    You can modify the contents of your "unacceptance Request." Modify the contents through the same procedure of "New Request."
    For the others, you can just check the contents of your request.
  3. Check the box on the left side of your request and click the "Cancel" button to cancel " unacceptance Request."

【List of Request Status】

You can see the following statuses in the list.

Accept The library is now preparing for sending your request.
in process The library has sent your request to the holding library.
Delivery available Photocopies or Inter-library lending materials are ready to hand over.
Come to Service Counter between 9:00 and 16:00 on weekdays.
Delivered (Only Photocopy) Requested photocopies have been delivered. The whole procedure has been completed.
on borrowing Only Book loan Inter-library lending materials are checked out.
Return Only Book loan The materials have been sent back to the holding library.
Cancel The request has been cancelled for some reason. We will let you know the details separately.

※You can check the list for three months. 
 
※We will send you an e-mail as soon as the materials have arrived.
The due date will be displayed in "Comments" box when the materials are ready for delivery. 


Advance Notice Service of Your Due Date
The library will notice you the due dates of the materials you have borrowed. Please notice that you will not get this notice if you do not register your e-mail address.
You can choose whether you will/will not use this service after registering your e-mail address. Go to the[Use information change]service page, and modify your present setting. When you want to stop receiving the notice, or to use the service again, check either radio button and click "Contents Change of Registration" button.

Outline of the service

※There will be the cases that the notice mails will not reach you by the due date because of the systematic errors of the mail server or of other problems. Please check your due date by using the [Lending and reservation]service together with the advance notice service to keep the lending period.

You can see your loan history (up to 1000) last 1 year
